Colorado C.U.R.E. Community honors outstanding volunteer

Communications Team - Friday, September 25, 2009
PROJECT C.U.R.E. Colorado recently honored long-time volunteer Millie Truitt with the Barbara and Merl Jacobsen Outstanding Volunteer of the Quarter Award. Millie volunteers for PROJECT C.U.R.E. approximately 24-36 hours every week, and she is involved in the following activities: accepting new incoming donations and presorting them, leading sorting groups, organizing sorted inventory, training and supervising other volunteers, helping to prepare inventory for upcoming loads, and loading containers.

Both Millie's and Barbara and Merl Jacobsen's stories embody the energy and enthusiasm of PROJECT C.U.R.E. volunteers, and without whose contributions the organization's work would not be possible.

Barbara Jacobsen, PROJECT C.U.R.E. Angel Ambassador, is also an author and poet. To learn more about her books and CDs, for which all proceeds are donated to PROJECT C.U.R.E., please visit her website.

PROJECT C.U.R.E. selected as finalist for ColoradoBiz Top Company Awards

Communications Team - Thursday, September 10, 2009

ColoradoBiz Magazine has recognized PROJECT C.U.R.E. as a finalist for its annual Top Company award in the nonprofit category. The organization shares this early distinction with two other Colorado-based nonprofits: Denver Rescue Mission and Colorado Uplift.

Top Company is Colorado’s most competitive business awards program, judged on the basis of sustained financial performance, operational excellence and community involvement.

Companies submit or are nominated to the program. Long-time sponsor Deloitte selects finalists after rigorous evaluations. Then a panel of business professionals and leading policy officials convenes to determine winners in each category.

Winners in each category will be announced Sept. 15 at an awards luncheon in the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

PROJECT C.U.R.E. thanks its volunteers, donors, and supporters for their contributions to the organization, who have made this honor possible.
