Current Events in Arizona
New Regional Office and Sorting Center Project C.U.R.E. Arizona is preparing to move into our first permanent building in Chandler by the summer of 2008. This donated building will be a permanent home for our Regional Office and Sorting Center. Even though our generous donor has agreed to build the exterior, we still need help to complete the interior. We are looking for businesses and individuals who can donate supplies or labor to finish this building with excellence.

For a list of needed supplies click here.

Project C.U.R.E. Arizona
Dr. Jim Jackson, Project C.U.R.E.s Founder, has lifelong friends in Phoenix, AZ. As Project C.U.R.E. was growing in Denver during the early 1990's, Jim asked his friend, Vern Gibson, to start collecting medical supplies. On a visit to Phoenix, Jim and Vern visited the largest hospital in town to request supplies and equipment. Within 3 days, St. Joseph's Hospital began calling to have items picked up. Soon Vern had more than he could store in his garage. So he found some donated warehouse space and opened the first Project C.U.R.E. facility in Arizona. In 1994 the very first two carg containers were shipped from Phoenix.

Clyde and Margo Nissly Vern Gibson moved to Indiana in 1998 two volunteers stepped up to keep Project C.U.R.E. moving forward. Clyde and Margo Nissly have been collecting surplus medical supplies in Arizona for Project C.U.R.E. since 1997. In 2002 the Nisslys and a few other volunteers successfully sorted, loaded and shipped six containers of medical supplies, worth more than 3 million dollars.
