Project C.U.R.E. Bios

Gregory P. Cooke - VP of Human Services

Greg Cooke currently serves as the VP of Human Services for PROJECT C.U.R.E. In this capacity, he oversees the identification and recruiting of new volunteers, their training and the eventual involvement of volunteer leaders in PROJECT C.U.R.E.’s apprentice program for new C.U.R.E. Community Directors. His position is national in scope and involves coordination and coaching of the C.U.R.E. Community Executive Directors in the four existing cities in which PROJECT C.U.R.E. operates. Additionally, he directs financial support efforts for the thousands of members who comprise the PROJECT C.U.R.E. volunteer team.

Greg has an extensive fundraising, management, operations, investment, and financial background in both the non-profit and public sectors. Prior to accepting his current position at PROJECT C.U.R.E., Greg was the Treasurer and Chief Operating Officer for the Caring for Colorado Foundation. In this capacity, Greg had senior management responsibility for financial, investment, human resources, facilities, risk management and information technology policies and systems for this statewide health care foundation.

Previously, as President and Chief Executive Officer Colorado Capital Initiatives, Greg established a statewide micro-credit (economic development) organization to provide access to bank credit and technical assistance for new business in economically distressed Colorado communities. He also held a former position as Vice President Central Banks of Colorado where he directed efforts in Community Relations/Corporate Giving, Liabilities Management, Civic Banking Management, Organization Development Officer, and Operations Training.

Greg received a B.A. in International Studies from Louisiana Tech University and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Southern California. He is an alumnus of the Denver Community Leadership Forum at the University of Colorado, Denver as well as the University of Colorado Graduate School of Banking. He received a Fulbright Scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, Munich, Germany also attended the University of Maryland, Munich Campus, Germany.

Greg Cooke has two adult children: Ryan (22) who works in the LA special effects industry and Megan (25) who teaches English in the Czech Republic. Greg enjoys back country skiing, long distance cycle collecting first edition antique books and reading about military history.
