Nepal Disaster Relief

The People of Nepal Need our Help

On Saturday, April 25, 80 kilometers northwest of Kathmandu a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. Hospital workers are treating patients on the streets and are conducting operations under makeshift tents because of the dangers of treating them indoors. Nepal is now short on water, food and medical supplies...

Thousands of citizens continue to make the streets their home, hospitals are overflowing and the power is off or intermittent according to reports from our partners in Nepal. Since the earthquake initially hit last Saturday, the number of lives lost has grown to more than 7,200 and more are expected in the coming days.

More than 14,000 people have been injured, and these numbers continue to rise as rescuers dig through the rubble. According to the UN children's agency, nearly one million children in Nepal urgently need humanitarian assistance as they were particularly vulnerable--the country is running out of water and food, and there are frequent power cuts.

In the rural areas, approximately 80% of houses were destroyed and in the cities, where the infrastructure is frail, vast tent cities have sprung up for those who are displaced or afraid to return to their homes as strong aftershocks continue.

Project C.U.R.E. is actively working with our in-country to partners to ascertain the need and find the best way to get critical supplies there.  In the meantime, if you are traveling to the area, please consider taking a C.U.R.E. Kit with you. C.U.R.E. Kits are pre-packed kits of basic, yet critical, medical supplies that can be easily transported as luggage and delivered to hospitals and clinics there. Each Kit contains approximately $2,000 worth of life-saving supplies. To order your Kit, please CLICK HERE.

If you would like to donate supplies for C.U.R.E. Kits, please find a list below. Most items can be purchased at your local drug store, or you can make a donation below and we will purchase the supplies in bulk.
